NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that from 28 June to 23 July 2010 (inclusive), on weekdays between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00pm any person interested may inspect, and make copies of, the accounts of the West Yorkshire Police Authority for the year ended 31 March 2010 and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto. The accounts and other documents will be made available on application to the Treasurer, Ploughland House, 62 George Street, Wakefield WF1 1DL (Tel: 01924 294000).
NOTICE is also given that on or after Monday, 26 July 2010 at 10.00am until the completion of the audit, the auditor, at the request of a local government elector for any area to which the accounts relate, will give the elector or his/her representative an opportunity to question him about the accounts, and that any such elector or his/her representative may attend before the auditor and make objections as to any matter in respect of which the auditor could take action under Section 17 of the Audit Commission Act 1998 (namely, an unlawful item of account), or could make a report in the public interest under Section 8 of that Act.
Questions may be received by the Treasurer, Ploughland House, 62 George Street, Wakefield WF1 1DL by arrangement with the District Auditor, Paul Lundy of The Audit Commission, Leeds Regional Office, 3 Leeds City Office Park, Holbeck, Leeds, LS11 5BD to whom requests for this purpose should be addressed. No objection may be made unless the auditor has previously received written notice of the proposed objection and its grounds. A copy of such notice must be sent to the West Yorkshire Police Authority via the Treasurer, West Yorkshire Police Authority, Ploughland House, 62 George Street, Wakefield, WF1 1DL.
