| Association of Police Authorities (APA) Re-elect West Yorkshire's Chair As Their Deputy |

Cllr Mark Burns Williamson, the current Chair of West Yorkshire Police Authority has been re-elected as Deputy Chair of the Association of Police Authorities (APA)
Following his election on Wednesday (14/7) at the APA Annual General Meeting, Cllr Burns-Williamson said: "I look forward to continuing being part of the APA's top team in putting the governance and accountability of the Police Service centre stage.
"I would like to thank colleagues for their support in enabling me to help shape the future of policing in challenging times as part of the national team."
Cllr Burns-Williamson was first elected Deputy Chair of the APA in 2009.
Together, the APA on behalf of police authorities work with the Home Office and the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) to ensure local views and voices are heard at the national level and is part of what is termed the tri-partite structure of policing in the UK. |
